Antique Radiological Meter type CD V-717 made by Victoreen was made near the height of the "Cold War" in 1964. It is an ionization chamber survey meter designed for use by radiological monitors in WER (Weapons Effect Reporting) Stations in case of nuclear attack. Size is 4.5" x 9" x 7" and uses one 1.5V "D" battery (not included). These look slightly used (they will have smudges and scratches) and some have labels that say "Texas Dept of Health". We put a battery in and noticed and did not see the meter move so they probably don't work. You get one CD V-717 and one manual and extension cable. Meter has "Circuit Check Position". Off, Zero Position, X100, X10, X1 and X .1 Switch Position. These include the extension cable in the lower chamber (See Picture).  Meter scale is marked 0-5 r/hr. Sold "As-Is". Weighs 5.5 lbs.
